A small but significant detail in BTS Jungkook‘s new documentary film is receiving criticism.
On September 18, JUNG KOOK : I AM GOLDEN was released in theaters. The film follows Jungkook as he prepares the released his first solo album, GOLDEN. Since its release in November 2023, GOLDEN has topped chats and received generally favorable reviews from critics.
Although GOLDEN is Jungkook’s debut solo album, the star has also released solo singles, including “Never Let Go.” “Never Let Go” was released on June 7, 2024 as a tribute to fans.
Although “Never Let Go” was released as part of BTS’s 11th anniversary event, 2024 BTS FESTA, the single is a solo song credited to Jungkook. As such, some fans were not happy to see “Never Let Go” credited to BTS rather than Jungkook in the credits of JUNG KOOK : I AM STILL.
These fans are now drawing attention to the credits on X and calling out HYBE for attributing “Never Let Go” to BTS.
Never Let Go is Jungkook’s solo song, why is it credited to BTS in ‘I Am Still’ credits? He solo branded it when it was released, BTS isn’t in performing credits of the song. Why does @BIGHIT_MUSIC insist on stealing from Jungkook’s work any chance they get? @HYBEOFFICIALtwt pic.twitter.com/7Ell21OcE3

Ofc that company had their paws on this documentary too, we saw from some clips already.
But it was too much to at least write the credits right???
F this, get out of that place pls, Jungkook. That company needs you, not otherwise. 💪💜 https://t.co/6LGPKqYHoe

This criticism comes just days after HYBE was accused of targeting Jungkook for supporting NewJeans amid HYBE’s ongoing feud with former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.
