The Kansas City Chiefs saw enough out of starting left tackle Kingsley Suamataia on Sunday, benching the second-round rookie midway through the fourth quarter.
Suamataia was having a very rough time keeping Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson away from Patrick Mahomes’ blind side in Week 2. He had already given up a sack and was called for holding when a two-play sequence in the fourth quarter hurt the Chiefs in a big way.
In two consecutive plays, Suamataia sent his team moving the wrong way. The first was a bad miss on Hendrickson, who sacked Mahomes. Then, on the next play, Suamataia was called for his second holding penalty of the game.
Kingsley Suamataia got beat on this play and then committed a critical holding penalty on the next play.

Those two lapses prompted head coach Andy Reid to bench Suamataia and insert backup left tackle Wanya Morris. As an aside, Morris had already made a big impact, having caught a big-man touchdown earlier in the game.
