Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys may be entering their final campaign together. With all of the noise coming out of Dallas, combined with the fact that he hasn’t signed an extension with the Cowboys somewhat puts the writing on the wall.
However, that doesn’t detract at all from how talented Dak is, nor should it keep him from putting together another fantastic season.
In his NFL quarterback rankings, Steven Ruiz of The Ringer ranked Prescott as the sixth best quarterback in football, saying he is the quarterback for connoisseurs.
“A refined palate is required to enjoy his sophisticated approach to playing the position- to appreciate his orchestration of the Cowboys offense at the line of scrimmage and the subtle pocket navigation that allows him to avoid pressure and carve out space to make daring throws,” Ruiz writes. “All the ball knowers appreciate Prescott’s game.”
Prescott led the NFL in touchdown passes a season ago, and his talent has spoken for him ever since he entered the league in 2016. The one knock against Dak is the lack of success in the playoffs. 2023 was an especially tough pill to swallow as Dallas was the No. 2 seed in the NFC and got blown out of the water at home by Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. If this is Dak’s swan song in Dallas, hopefully he can put an exclamation point on his work.
