KISS OF LIFE member Belle has gone viral on Korean online communities after her past social media accounts resurfaced, causing a stir among netizens.
A netizen dug up an old Instagram account belonging to the singer, where she used to post hilarious memes, and even her own meme-worthy pictures. The username was also as eccentric, “Byeongmat Choding Video,” Byeongmat and choding being the Korean slangs for “unhinged” and “elementary school student,” respectively.
In her bio, Belle also mentioned her YouTube channel, making the OP (original poster) wonder if it was still up. The post drew quite the attention, with over 100,000 views at the time of writing. While netizens were amused by Belle’s sense of humor, some flocked to the post to add to the OP’s dug-up treasure, revealing Belle’s second Instagram account and recounting her YouTube days as well.
- “This is f*cking funny. So, she wasn’t normal since childhood.”
- “I’m the same age as Belle. I used to watch her on YouTube, and it was so much fun. The channel name was ‘Byeonmat Choding Video,’ and I remember it had a North Korean defector concept. She would play with kinetic sand and slime in the bathroom and dance to EXO’s ‘Overdose’ choreography. She had sort of a ‘female Cha Jin Hyuk’ vibe, and I wondered how an elementary school student could be so funny… At some point, all her videos were deleted, which was a pity. There were the occasional song covers as well, and I still remember the one where she sang ‘Contrail’ because she sang it so well. Hyewon, I was your real fan… I even left her a comment asking her to start a ‘Byeongmat Goding (High School Student)’ channel on YouTube as well.”
- “This was there as well, LOL.”
- “This has the exact f*cking vibes of 2014.”
- “Belle doesn’t have that stupid ‘shy and mysterious’ idol concept. She has been a genuinely funny one from the beginning. That’s so likable.”
- “Meanwhile, her subscriber count went crazy.”
- “She’s really f*cking likable TT.”
