The Houston Texans have at least four of the top 100 players in the NFL right now, at least according to the votes of the players themselves. Last week Danielle Hunter, Laremy Tunsil and Stefon Diggs all earned their respective places in the league’s annual top-100 rankings ffor 2024. Now the crown jewel of the franchise has been given a huge honor, as well.
Starting quarterback C.J. Stroud has been voted the 20th best player in the league by his peers. Here’s a look at what some of them had to say bout his game, including Kirk Cousins and Tyrann Mathieu.

While it’s a well-deserved honor, it’s also extremely rare for players to rank this high on the list after just one year in the league. It speaks to the respect that Stroud has commanded from his competitors.
Stroud is coming off what was arguably the most-impressive rookie season by any quarterback in NFL history, totaling 23 touchdown passes and just five interceptions, which was the best TD/INT ratio in the entire league. What he does for an encore with an upgraded Texans supporting cast may set the stage for a Super Bowl run.
