Arsenal’s summer transfer window has gotten off to a somewhat lethargic start, but there are signs of movement as Riccardo Calafiori edges closer to a potential move to the Emirates.
Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his squad with the addition of a central midfielder and a forward, and it seems that Mikel Merino and Nico Williams are high on his wishlist.
However, to facilitate these signings, the Gunners will need to offload some players. To that end, Nottingham Forest has shown a strong interest in acquiring one of Arsenal’s outcasts.
According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Nottingham Forest are dreaming of a move to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The 26-year-old has seen his standing at Arsenal diminish over the last year or so, now firmly behind David Raya in the goalkeeper pecking order. With first-team chances looking increasingly scarce, Ramsdale managed only 11 appearances across all competitions last season, as he struggled to reclaim his spot in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Arsenal are reportedly demanding £50 million ($ 64m) for the former Bournemouth keeper, a figure that Forest is not prepared to meet. Instead, the City Ground club is opting for a more patient approach, hoping to secure Ramsdale on a short-term loan deal later in the transfer window, covering his full wages in the process.
Whether this plan will pay off remains uncertain, especially in a summer that could see a flurry of goalkeeper transfers.
In addition to Ramsdale, Forest have also set their sights on Sam Johnstone, who is expected to leave Crystal Palace after falling out of favor behind Dean Henderson.
