K-Pop fans across the world rejoiced over the announcement that 2NE1 would be reuniting for the first time since they performed at Coachella together in 2022, and, prior to that, since they disbanded in 2017. More has been revealed about their reunion, which will involve a concert tour for their 15th debut anniversary that will begin in Seoul in October 2024 and continue throughout other countries into 2025.
There has been some skepticism over the reunion, mostly regarding YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk and his past treatment of 2NE1’s members. Some fans are seeing this as a cash grab on his part, and worry that the idols are being taken advantage of once again.
Dara talked bout the disbandment. Altho all the members want to continue as 2ne1 for a very long time, Y* decided its difficult to continue bcoz of the “situations”🙄
Dara also said the girls want a comeback but they need to find the right timing😅 pic.twitter.com/gVK3ybC2l8

Still, the excitement remains high for many, especially now that dates and locations have started to be revealed for the tour.
Ticket prices for their concert in Seoul have also been revealed, though the reactions to the cost for said tickets is also getting mixed reactions.
The ticket prices are listed to be 165,000 won, or about ~$ 119 USD. For international fans of popular K-Pop groups, this likely sounds pretty reasonable considering how much overseas concerts can cost. However, Korean netizens seem to be torn on whether or not this is an understandable price for a domestic concert.
- “Nowadays, there are a lot of concerts that are more expensive than that…”
- “Nowadays, 150,000 won or more is the default.”
- “It’s not particularly expensive.”
- “Isn’t it expensive???”
- “All concerts are expensive these days…”
- “It’s not cheap..”
- “Isn’t that expensive without soundcheck??”
- “It’s expensive but it’s not a waste because it’s 2NE1. Instead of paying 150,000 won to an idol group that can’t even perform live at the concert, you’ll do a great job attending 2NE1’s concert with that amount of money.”
- “I think it would be better to just spend 200,000 won and get rid of all the muggles.”
- “Even though it’s expensive, I really want to go… 2NE1’s concert will be really fun.”
- “All concert ticket prices are the same these days.”
- “It’s expensive, but the price of most concerts is going up these days. It’s not a fan meeting, it’s not a fan con, it’s just a concert.”
- “No, it’s expensive, but 2NE1’s concert is so good that you can pay 200,000 won to see it.”
Do you think this is a reasonable price to see the legends 2NE1?
