Jasson Dominguez, the top prospect for the New York Yankees, could begin a rehab assignment this week as he works back from an oblique injury.
The 21-year-old switch-hitter has been on the injured list since the middle of June when he suffered an oblique injury on a check swing.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters Tuesday that Dominguez took live batting practice and could return to game action this week at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
In 23 games this season, Dominguez had a .356 average and 1.013 OPS to go along with six home runs, 13 RBI and 53 total bases.
