Recently, actor Byeon Woo Seok’s security team received harsh backlash for its “over-the-top” behavior at the airport.
An online video revealed Byeon’s security guard using a flashlight at civilians to prevent them from filming.
The video went viral online, with many criticizing the security team’s actions. The security team quickly admitted to the actions and apologized.
Most recently, Byeon’s agency Varo Entertainment issued an official apology regarding the incident.
However, the apology only fueled more fire to the controversy and received even more criticism from Korean netizens.
- “The agency doesn’t know how to get work done…”
- “What’s with the level of this apology letter…”
- “I don’t understand…I don’t know when they recognized and blocked the situation and where they felt the moral responsibility…If I were one of the passengers at the scene, I wouldn’t know if this was an apology or a way to escape the situation.”
- “Seeing how they are writing the apology letter, it will be difficult for them to get bigger.”
- “Are they talking about someone else? Take the legal responsibility.”
- “They are putting this on someone else.”
- “Right, because it was all the security team’s fault~.”
- “So unfavorable.”
- “So all the parts causing a problem is all the security team’s fault, and you guys didn’t recognize it? What kind of apology is this?”
- “???”
- “Morals?”
- “How is this an apology…?”
- “This isn’t an apology, but just putting the blame on someone else..so ridiculous.”
- “They should just make all these departures and arrivals private. They said he’s a superstar, right? Just make him depart and arrive so that no one knows if he received an endorsement.”
- “I knew this would happen. People complain with or without an apology.”
- “There’s never been a security team that inspects tickets at the airport..what’s the matter with them? I would only understand if this was a new security team company.”
- “They are so good at making matters worse. Honestly, even if this is the worst airport case, they could have let it go if they just apologized…curious to see how far they will go.”
- “This wasn’t the first time they used flashlights…I had a feeling they would use the security team as an excuse, and I was right.”
- “Did they want to say just how popular Byeon Woo Seok was even in their apology letter lol.”
- “I bet they didn’t know that the airport would make a statement about this. They were quiet when other news articles were being released.”
- “Are they talking about someone else here?”
- “The agency is morally responsible. The security company, Incheon Airport, Korean Air, come on out. Who is responsible?”
