ENHYPEN returned to the K-Pop scene with their new album Romance: Untold.
Heeseung stood out this comeback with his songwriting credits, particularly in the track “Highway 1009.” Because of this, he had a solo interview with Weverse Magazine where he talked about his work as a producer as well as his reaction to the other songs in the album.
Regarding the latter, he mentioned the B-Side track “Brought The Heat Back” and how he was a little stumped when he had to record it. He was given a line in the second verse that contained the word “dammit,” a semi-swear word that he rarely uses.
There’s the word ‘dammit’ in the second verse of ‘Brought The Heat Back.’ It’s not a word I use much in real life and even less when singing.

HEESEUNG: There’s the word “dammit (미친/michin/crazy)” in the second verse of “Brought The Heat Back.” It’s not a word I use much in real life and even less when singing. You don’t usually hear words like that when you listen to songs, so it wasn’t easy to make it sound natural. pic.twitter.com/MguXBuAJ8j

Even if Heeseung usually has a smooth ride in the recording booth, this single word was surprisingly difficult to master.

In the end, he did multiple takes in order to ensure that “dammit” was sung the right way. His commitment to perfection led him to “record over and over.”
I tried out a bunch of other weird ones to see what might work there. That was one of the parts I had to record over and over.
