Japanese producer Hosokawa Taku has been taken into custody following accusations that he drugged and sexually assaulted a female singer in her twenties.
According to reports from Weekly Bunshun on July 12, the incident occurred on April 4. Hosokawa allegedly invited the young singer to a restaurant in Tokyo under the guise of offering career advice. During the meeting, he is said to have laced her food with a sleeping pill. The victim, in a disoriented state, was reportedly taken to a hotel and assaulted.
The situation came to light when the victim’s family, noticing her unusual condition after she returned home in a taxi, decided to take her to the hospital. Medical tests revealed the presence of a sleeping pill in her system, which she had no recollection of consuming.
Hosokawa Taku — now under arrest — has denied the allegations. The producer claims that while he did accompany the victim to a hotel, he did not engage in any inappropriate actions.
Hosokawa is a prominent figure in the Japanese entertainment industry. He has previously managed well-known singers and served as a director at Tristone Entertainment, the agency representing actor Oguri Shun. Currently, he is affiliated with Sony Music Labels and is working on soundtracks for various TV shows.
