New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton continues to make progress from a hamstring injury.
Out since June 22 when he pulled his hamstring rounding third base, Stanton told reporters at the time that he expected it to be a four-week timeline, more or less.
Manager Aaron Boone told reporters ahead of Tuesday night’s game that Stanton could be “getting ready to play” after the All-Star break next week.
Whether that meant a rehab assignment, Boone didn’t clarify.
Aaron Boone said he doesn’t necessarily expect Giancarlo Stanton to be playing for the #Yankees right after the break, but that he could be “getting ready to play” at that point.
Asked if that means a rehab assignment, Boone said he doesn’t know yet.

Stanton was enjoying a bounce-back season in the middle of the Yankees lineup before the injury. His 120 OPS+ is the highest its been since the 2021 season, and he added 18 home runs and 45 RBI in 69 games.
The Yankees could use Stanton’s presence in the lineup but considering his injury history, they will be careful not to rush him back either.
