RIIZE‘s Seunghan has been on a hiatus from the group for far longer than he promoted with them at this point. While the group debuted in early September 2023, he went on hiatus in late November due to scandals and has been away from the group since then, which is over seven months now. And during his hiatus, he hasn’t appeared in any RIIZE promotions or activities, which has fans worried about his future with the group and whether or not he’ll return. Since he’s been gone for so long at this point, many are under the impression that he likely won’t come back, but until SM Entertainment makes a definitive announcement, it’s still up in the air.
Because there is so much uncertainty, fans are trying to dig up any information they can find that could give evidence into Seunghan’s future with RIIZE. Some of it has supported his comeback while others have suggested against it, so it’s still really unknown at this point.
A recent discovery has led to even more confusion and mixed reactions from netizens regarding the situation. Back in late April this year, RIIZE released the music video for “9 Days”, a pre-release track from their recently-released album RIIZING which came out on June 17.
A photo was shared online that appears to be taken in the same location as some of the scenes in the music video. And all seven members of RIIZE are in the image, suggesting that at some point, Seunghan was included in the MV filming.
Since it’s unclear when the music video was filmed, it’s possible (and probably likely) that it was filmed a while ago, back before Seunghan went on hiatus. If that’s the case, though, it means that the group likely had to refilm a lot, if not all, of the music video more recently, which would have led to a lot of extra work for the idols and their staff.
Because of this, Korean netizens are annoyed over the situation, calling Seunghan a “nuisance” and asking for SM to finally announce his official removal from the group.
- “Wow.”
- “Imagine how much damage he made to the team, phew.”
- “Isn’t this a song they’ve been preparing since debut though?”
- “Wow seriously a f*cking nuisance.”
- “Oh my.”
- “Seems like they’ve been preparing this for a long time.”
- “Where did you find this?”
- “All the members and staffs ended up working twice.”
- “Don’t come back, ever.”
- “6 people had a lot of trouble… I wish they would make an announcement soon.”
