We are now approaching the knockout phase of the 2024 Copa America, which means every game takes on significant importance for those involved.
With only eight spaces available in the quarterfinals, half of the original field will be heading home early from the United States. The battle is on to avoid becoming one of those teams.
Jamaica became the first team to know its fate, losing its second game of the tournament, this time to Ecuador, 3-1.
Here’s a rundown of the teams knocked out of the 2024 Copa America so far and information on when the knockout matches will take place, up to and including the final.

Teams out of Copa America 2024: Updated list of nations eliminated
The 16-team format gives the Copa America an initial round-robin phase of four groups of four. The top two in each section qualify automatically for the quarterfinals, while the teams that finish third and fourth in each group are eliminated.
From that point on, the tournament is a straight knockout competition, with 30 minutes of extra time and a penalty shootout if necessary after any game that is level at full-time.
