In the K-Pop world, fan sign and video call events are unique opportunities to connect with artists on a more personal level. Many fans take the time and effort to prepare for the meeting so they can remember it as a special memory.
Although it may seem like basic manners, some fans are disrespectful and skip certain members, only interacting with their biases. There have been many incidents in K-pop where fans skipped idols right before them, putting them in an uncomfortable position.
Recently, a video on Weibo garnered much attention as a fan skipped TXT’s Yeonjun during a fan sign event.
If 1/4 of a 1-minute long fansign is skipped, and the idol himself expressed helplessness and awkwardness with his hand gesture, does the fan count as an anti? Can we allocate all of the other members’ time to our bias next time?
In the video, the fan in the white tank top get up right away and moves on to the next member, leaving Yeonjun confused at first.
After realizing what happened, he threw both his hands up in the air, not sure what to do.
While sitting without a fan in front of him, he continued to pose for the fans who called his name in the audience.
He then resumed the fan sign with a smile as the next fan approached him.
Fans that saw the video felt that none of the members deserved this kind of treatment.
