Les Bleus beat Austria 1-0 in their opening match but draws with the Netherlands and Poland saw them come in second behind Ralf Rangnick’s side in Group D.
Belgium got off to a false start when they lost 1-0 to Slovakia. They remedied matters with an impressive 2-0 victory over Romania but laboured to a goalless draw with Ukraine in their final group-stage match.
Didier Deschamps has claimed two memorable wins in his competitive jousts with the Red Devils — 1-0 in the 2018 FIFA World Cup semifinals and a dramatic 3-2 triumph at the same stage of the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals. France went on to win both competitions.

Didier Deschamps has no major roster issues to deal with ahead of the Round of 16 match. The France boss should have his entire squad at his disposal on Monday. His star forward, Kylian Mbappe, completed the full 90 minutes against Poland with no reactions after returning from a broken nose.
With his protective mask on, Real Madrid star Mbappe finally opened his account at the Euros at the third attempt, dispatching a penalty early in the second half before Poland were awarded a spot-kick of their own.
Mbappe will undoubtedly be good to spearhead the France attack here alongside Antoine Griezmann and a hit-and-miss Ousmane Dembele.
