Ho Chihning has been dubbed “Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Politician.” She serves as a representative for a district in Hsinchu, Northwestern Taiwan.
She recently visited Japan where she was harassed outside Otsuka Station, Tokyo. It was here where a drunk man holding alcohol repeatedly tried to approach her. Though she politely rejected his advances, he would not stop encroaching on her space.
The man, confirmed to be a foreigner, followed her into a bookstore where he groped her twice. Chihning allegedly kicked him in the groin in self-defense, posting a video of him stumbling back on social media.
One June 17, she took to Instagram to explain the situation in a post. The Taiwanese politician clarified that she holds no ill-will towards Japan despite the incident taking place there.
Even though this happened to me in Japan, I have no ill will towards the country.
— Ho Chihning.
She also thanked the police for their hard work in “in pursuing and arresting the perpetrator.”
