Months of chatter have led up to this point, as Caitlin Clark and Diana Taurasi take center stage for their first career meeting.
Taurasi, a 20-year WNBA veteran, had pointed words for the incoming rookie after Clark’s stellar collegiate career. While the pair didn’t fan the flames, fans were anticipating the veteran’s first matchup with Clark.
Unfortunately, fans had to wait nearly two months into Clark’s rookie season for the game. But it’s finally here, as Taurasi and the Mercury host Clark and the Fever at 3 p.m. ET Sunday, June 30, in front of a national audience on ESPN.
Clark will get her chance to clap back at Taurasi with her on-court play, even if their “beef” hasn’t included much back-and-forth to this point.

Caitlin Clark highlights vs. Phoenix Mercury
Clark has mostly struggled in her debut matchup vs. Taurasi and the Mercury. Kahleah Copper has given her little to no room on and off the ball, making offense difficult for the rookie.
She’s put together some highlights, though, in the first half of play as the Fever trail 49-38.
Of course, she gets her scoring started with a deep 3-pointer in the first quarter.

Her passes stood out in the first half as Clark and Aliyah Boston’s chemistry has been growing in recent games.

Clark also got to the rim and converted on an and-1 as Indiana kept the game close in the second quarter.
