Before their Tuesday night matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays at The Rogers Centre, the Boston Red Sox made a transaction that impacted their major league roster.
The team announced that they’ve activated reliever Chris Martin, who had been dealing with anxiety, from the injured list.
Martin appeared in one game for Triple-A Worcester before returning from the injured list, throwing one inning and walking one.
To make room for the veteran reliever on the roster, the Red Sox optioned starter Cooper Criswell back to Triple-A.
Criswell started the year with Worcester before being called up to join the rotation on April 13. He pitched 52 innings over 12 appearances (11 starts) and recorded a 4.15 ERA and a 1,212 WHIP.
