Recently, it was revealed that the members of tripleS have an unusual living style compared to the typical K-Pop idol life. Rather than all the members being required to live together in a dorm all the time, they’re actually allowed to live with their family or on their own during non-promotional periods.
The fans would be a little surprised to hear, but it’s actually harder than you think to have 24 girls live in a house and promote. Although it’s so fun and enjoyable to get together and put our strength together to promote, there are some realistic problems that come with it. So during our non-promotional period, we are allowed to freely live where we want to. Of course we all live together in dorms during promotional periods, but for non-promotional periods, we have discussed it with our company to agree on this. For now, the ones who live outside are Hyerin, Yooyeon, Sohyun, and Jiwoo. But we have more promotions than expected, so we have to go back at forth a lot. Also, we expect that more of us will move out in the future, so we will continue to share this with the fans.

Considering that there are 24 members in tripleS, one would think that most people would be understanding of this arrangement. The logistics alone to figure out living arrangements for that many people in a dorm or apartment sounds like a nightmare, not to mention it would undoubtedly be stressful to have so many young girls living in the same place all the time.
However, it seems like some “fans” are unusually upset about this information. It seems like some people believe that such “free” living shouldn’t be allowed for rookie idols for whatever reason, and the backlash even caused one member, Yooyeon, to apologize and promise she would move back into the dorms even during non-promotional periods.
But it’s not just online that people are showing their disappointment with tripleS’s living situation. It turns out that some “fans” planned to “boycott” the members who were revealed to not be living in the dorms by ignoring them during a recent fanmeeting.
- “Don’t talk to them and don’t look at their face, just sit in front of the member but face the opposite direction, sit with your back turned against her.”
- “My acquaintance is going tomorrow, I’ll ask if there are really people acting like that.”
- “What about sitting with your back against them towards your second bias?”
- “That’s good too. Anyways, don’t even look at those deserters, make it so obvious that even the members around can feel it.”
- “Okay ㅋㅋ”
While it’s unclear just how many people participated in this “boycott”, photos revealed that at least one netizen — who appears to be a middle-aged man — indeed turned away from Sohyun during the event and seemingly refused to interact with her.
Fortunately, his actions resulted in quick and heavy backlash from other fans for his behavior.
