The Chiefs are coming off their second consecutive Super Bowl and looking to win a third in 2024.
Kansas City didn’t make too many blockbuster moves this offseason but spent a lot of money to retain members of their Super Bowl roster, including defensive tackle Chris Jones, defense end Mike Danna and linebacker Drue Tranquill.
Another member of the Chiefs’ vaunted defense will return in 2024 as well, and he comes with a warning for the rest of the league.
Veteran defensive end Charles Omenihu, who tore his ACL in the AFC title game against the Ravens this past year and missed the Super Bowl, posted a view showing off how his surgically-repaired is holding up in offseason training. Omenihu noted that he is three most post-op, that “they” said he wouldn’t be the same and that “vengeance” is on the way.
Surgery knee btw. 3 months post OP. They said I wouldnt be the same. Keep doubting. Vengeance OTW. pic.twitter.com/lAGNFKU2m1

CHIEFS 2024 SEASON: Full schedule | Primetime games | Draft class
Omenihu, 26, wracked up a career-best seven sacks this past season in just 11 games for Kansas City. He was suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. Omenihu previously spent time with the Texans and 49ers before he joined the Chiefs.
If Omenihu returns for Week 1, the Chiefs will have their top five sack artists back for 2024 in George Karlaftis, Jones, Omenihu, Danna and Tranquill. That group combined for 38 sacks this past season. The Chiefs finished second in the league in sacks with 57 this past season — only three behind the Ravens.
