Adidas is facing severe backlash from Korean netizens after releasing a promotional video featuring the fifth-generation K-Pop girl group QWER.
In the video posted on the girl group’s social media, the members of QWER tour an Adidas store, showing and wearing various products the brand offers. However, the collaboration has ignited controversy, leading to calls for a boycott of the brand.
The girl group QWER, particularly member Siyeon, has been the center of controversy due to recent remarks about marriage and childbirth.
During a broadcast, Siyeon was asked about the idea of getting married to have children, to which she responded, “Humans are born to reproduce. It is our duty to reproduce.” She further emphasized, “We get married to fulfill that duty of reproduction.” Her comments have sparked significant debate, especially given the sensitive discussions surrounding birth rates in Korea.
