On May 31, ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin held a second press conference after the court ruled in favor of her injunction against HYBE Labels. It’s been 36 days since the first press conference held in April, and the feud between the two parties has drawn the attention of millions of people as everyone waits to see how this situation finally settles.
During the latest press conference, Hee Jin actually mentioned how she would like to reach a compromise with HYBE Labels, despite the animosity and accusations that have been involved in the ongoing feud.
I hope to reach a compromise with HYBE. Although we are in a dispute, I’m not sure who this is for. Aren’t you tired of criticizing someone? We need to turn the tables again to see what is for the greater good for the sake of the business vision. I hope you can let go of the emotional parts and rethink this. I also think it’s the humane thing to do.
— Min Hee Jin
But it seems like this desire isn’t mutual. In response to Min Hee Jin’s request to compromise, a representative from HYBE Labels doubled down on the company’s determination to conclude the feud through other methods.
“A representative from HYBE stated, ‘HYBE has no intention of compromising and intends to reach a conclusion through police investigations or related lawsuits.’”
It seems that the bad blood between both involved parties isn’t going to dissipate anytime soon. Netizens reacted to the statement in a lot of different ways, from understanding why HYBE wouldn’t want to compromise with Hee Jin to worry about what could happen to NewJeans if things aren’t settled peacefully.
How do you feel about this situation?
