Actress Han So Hee was recently accused of lying about her college acceptance. The star had claimed on a variety show to have been accepted into a prestigious arts school in France. This happened when she was around 20-years-old, before she even stepped foot into the entertainment industry. She claimed to have not enough money in her bank account to attend the school, leading her to work many odd jobs.
After the interview aired, netizens began to question the validity of her claims. Han So Hee claimed to have been accepted, but was unable to gather the funds for it. However, France colleges only send acceptances for international students after one is able to prove their availability of funds. This is related to their visa system for international applicants. Her agency has since stepped up with a statement to clarify that all her claims are true.
Han So Hee Accused Of Lying About University Acceptance, Agency Responds
It seems like netizens are divided, due to previous cases of witchhunts about education.
- Those who are invoking Ta-Jin-Yo, do you guys have a conscience? I remember how he went on public broadcast with interviews from the staff of the school, showing his graduation certificate and all.
- All talk, no action. Is it that hard to show us the acceptance letter?
- Since when was Tablo unable to prove himself, unlike her? You only can liken it to Ta-Jin-Yo if people still don’t believe her despite being shown proof. She’s not even trying to prove it.
- Isn’t it kinda funny though, if she uploads her acceptance letter or proof that she studied the language? It’s not a big deal.
- Things will be put to rest if she just proves it with her acceptance letter.
- Do we really have to make it a big thing? An actress’ educational background isn’t important.
- The variety show’s production team were getting cursed out earlier for their editing because she claimed earlier that it was their editing that caused the truth to be distorted.
Ta-Jin-Yo is a famous case where Epik High’s Tablo claimed to have attended the prestigious Stanford University. People began to question his educational background, refusing to believe him. Even though Stanford’s registrar had already spoken up for him, along with various alumni, no one believed him. Eventually, he had to go to the school personally to request a transcript to prove his innocence.
