Amidst the brewing controversy within the ranks of HYBE‘s subsidiary labels, Source Music, the agency managing LE SSERAFIM, has issued a stern public statement condemning disrespectful mentions and malicious actions against their artists.
The agency’s statement comes in the backdrop of recent comments made by Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR, another sub-label under HYBE. Fans are now speculating that the statement could be a direct response to Min’s remarks, which have stirred significant discourse in the industry.
Min has publicly mentioned LE SSERAFIM multiple times in a negative light, including claims that HYBE restricted her promotional efforts for NewJeans because of LE SSERAFIM. She has also expressed feelings of betrayal over HYBE’s decision to debut LE SSERAFIM before NewJeans, specifically pointing out members Sakura and Chaewon during her press conference.
These claims consequently resulted in multiple theories and speculations being thrown around online, many of which were not kind to the LE SSERAFIM members.
In response, Source Music’s statement emphasized the severity of the accusations and disrespect directed towards LE SSERAFIM, categorically denouncing the spread of false information and various forms of harassment suffered by the group. The agency vows to take strong legal action to protect the integrity and personal rights of its artists from what it describes as a campaign of malicious slander.
Below is the full statement from Source Music:
“Hello, This is Source Music.
First, we deeply regret the current situation where, in public, untrue statements are made and other artists’ real names are mentioned disrespectfully without regard for decency. We strongly request that such incidents not be repeated in the future.
This has led to a multitude of malicious posts and reckless speculations based on one-sided claims that are not grounded in fact. We judge that the level of indiscriminate insults, dissemination of false information, sexual harassment, malicious defamation, and slander against LE SSERAFIM has reached a serious level, and we will strengthen legal measures necessary to protect our artists.
False claims that LE SSERAFIM has caused harm to other artists and presenting untrue content as if it were a fact, thereby shaping public opinion, are clear instances of spreading false information. Mockery, swearing, posts that insult the artist’s character, and sexual harassment are all subject to legal action.
The personal rights of our artists are being seriously infringed upon, and we plan to respond sternly to malicious posts on all channels, including SNS and online communities.
We are actively using the valuable information provided by fans through the Source Music legal response account ([email protected]). We are always grateful for the affection and dedication of the fans towards LE SSERAFIM.
We earnestly request that you cease all malicious acts against our artists, and we will do our utmost to protect the rights of our artists.
Thank you.”
