Sergei Bobrovsky has already made his stamp on the 2024 NHL playoffs.
The veteran goaltender is a two-time All-Star and Vezina Trophy winner but has never won a Stanley Cup. But he and the Panthers, who hold the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Division, are eyeing a title run.
Bobrovsky, 35, is playing his best hockey — all in year 14. He remained calm and composed in a hectic situation in Game 2 against the Lightning to make perhaps the best save of the season, and certainly the postseason.
Here’s the video breakdown of Bobrovsky’s heroic play.

Bobrovsky has proven year after year why he’s still one of the league’s best goaltenders despite being in his age-35 season.
In 58 games this season, Bobrovsky won 36 with a league-leading six shutouts. He showcased that excellence in a tie game late in the second period against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The puck was sent behind the net and the Lightning had an opportunity to shoot immediately as it surfaced in front. Bobrovsky was quickly forced to cover the left post, which left Matt Dumba open on the opposite side.
Dumba had an open net, but Bobrovsky dove backward to make potentially the save of the year, keeping the game tied at 2-2.
