As of this writing, we are just a little over one day away from the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 25, and we’ll FINALLY begin getting some answers for what the Las Vegas Raiders will do with their eight picks in total, one of which comes at No. 13 overall in the first round.
The Raiders have a grand total of eight picks, including at least one in every round. The only round Las Vegas has a pair of selections in is the seventh, where they own pick Nos. 223 and 229.
While Las Vegas has immediate needs to address, general manager Tom Telesco has made it clear he’s not going to limit himself to drafting players solely for that reason. Telesco also has his eye on the future.
“We’re drafting them for the future, and that’s what we’re hoping to get out of them,” Telesco said. “It’s not so much where they fit in initially as a rookie the first year. I mean, history shows, probably less than a third of rookies, maybe even 30 percent of rookies, actually play a high number a significant amount of snaps their rookie years or filling a need. That’s reality. Whatever needs we may have today, or whatever perceived needs those are, these players were drafting, we’re looking down the road minimum I’d say four to five years.”
There has been no shortage of rumors surrounding what the Raiders will do when they’re on the clock in the first round. To make things easier, we’re tracking all of the latest buzz below, from Wednesday on. The most recent updates are at the top.
