K-Pop fangirls can be idols and celebrities too! Meet the lovely “Tu” Tontawan Tantivejakul…
She’s starred as Gorya, the female lead, in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, the Thai drama version of Yoko Kamio‘s hit manga Boys Over Flowers. She acted opposite male lead “Bright” Vachirawit Chivaaree as Thyme, and their visuals and chemistry are beautiful.

We were obsessed with this adaptation and, naturally, we all wanted to get to know the cast better. So, lead actress Tu did an interview with GGMTV for fans to get to know her better.
Tu briefly talked about her education. While she plays a high schooler in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, currently, she’s a university student studying dentistry.
I studied at Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School. Then I went to Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School when I was in 7th grade. I studied there for the whole 6 years. Right now, I’m studying at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. I’m becoming a third-year student.

When asked about extracurricular activities, her interests were quite contrasting to her character. She was quite active in school, being a cheerleader, playing volleyball, and even being president of a club. That club was none other than her school’s K-Pop fan club!
I was a cheerleader from 7th-12th grade. And I used to be a volleyball player too. As for a school club, I was the president of the K-Pop Fangirling Club.

Her K-Pop fangirling didn’t end in high school, of course. She said that she continues to collect her favorite group’s merchandise today.
The things that I like and my collectibles are mostly about K-Pop albums. I collect photocards and various merchandise.

She told the interviewer that her favorite K-Pop groups are EXO, NCT, and Red Velvet. Anyone who follows any of her social media accounts may have already known this, though.
My favorite bands and artists are EXO, NCT, and Red Velvet.

The model-turned-actress low-key has a fan account (@tontawan_t on Twitter). When she’s not live-tweeting F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, you can see her fangirl over groups such as NCT, EXO, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Red Velvet.
Tu keeps her Instagram relatively professional in comparison. Still, you will see subtle references to her fandoms.
On Twitter, she shared some videos taken from online fansigns in which she spoke with NCT’s Jisung. He’s her bias!

Remember how she mentioned collecting photocards? She has an awe-inspiring collection of Jisung’s photocards. You can catch a glimpse of it during one of her vlogs as she picks out one to display in a photocard holder keychain.
Her love and appreciation for Korea have gone beyond just K-Pop. In the GMMTV interview, she mentioned that she enjoys traveling overseas, especially South Korea and Japan.
Nice weather, my skin looks great. Everything there is wonderful—Nice light, my photos looking beautiful, spectacular views of the city.
— “Tu” Tontawan Tantivejakul
In fact, she was just recently in Korea, and even posted in Korean!
She also took time to see ITZY’s concert in Bangkok, complete with her very own Ryujin fansign.
