Let’s talk about a dramatic pause. Yes, that second of silence before the big drop. There’s one heck of a dramatic pause in TXT‘s “Deja Vu,” too. If you know, you know.
But, alas, radio host and comedian Lee Eun Ji did not know. So, her premature celebration of the song’s (fake) ending led to one of the funniest moments in KBS Cool FM history!
On April 12, 2024 (KST), the group graced KBS radio, Cool FM “Lee Eun Ji‘s Gayo Plaza,” to promote their latest album, Minisode 3: TOMORROW. As the members performed a beautiful live version of “Deja Vu,” Lee Eun Ji held her breath, listening…
…until she didn’t.
Fooled by the dramatic pause, the host let out one heck of a satisfied moan—a sound of exhilaration that some have since dubbed the “roar of a Korean water deer”—despite member Yeonjun trying his best to let her know that the song hadn’t ended yet.

The unexpected emergence of the water deer made all TXT members burst into laughter, although the live performance was still carried out flawlessly.
LMAO, I WATCHED THIS STREAM LIVE AND THE DJ THOUGHT THE SONG WAS OVER SO SHE HOLLERED AT THEM AND THE WAY THEY WERE ABLE TO FINISH THE SONG WITHOUT ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING. HAHAHA EVEN FUNNIER NOW.

The video has since gone viral, of course. And Koreans can’t get enough of the hilarious hiccup that spiced up the performance!
- “The water deer moment, LMAO. It had me f*cking cracking up on air, too.”
- “WTF, hahaha. A water deer?! LOL. You are all so hilarious.”
- “It’s impressive how the members were able to keep singing after what had happened, too. Haha. I can see them holding back their laughter to finish the song, and it’s so cute.”
- “I want to see Lee Eun Ji’s face while she makes this sound, LOL. No visuals on the water deer?”
- “It wouldn’t have been this hilarious had she let out a simple, ‘Wow.’ But the moan? That’s what makes this f*cking real.”
- “LMFAO.”
- “2:21 is f*cking hilarious, LOLOLOLOL.”
