In a fascinating domestic shootout at super featherweight, Jordan Gill takes on Zelfa Barrett at the AO Arena in Manchester on April 13. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast on DAZN.

Gill (28-2-1, 9 KOs) is a former European champion and he’s coming off the biggest win of his career. Bouncing back from a heartbreaking stoppage loss to Kiko Martinez in October 2022, “The Thrill” turned in an inspired display to upset former world title challenger Michael Conlan in December.
“This is a fight that as soon as you mentioned it, we said yes,” said Gill at the press conference announcing the Barrett bout. “It’s one that I’m excited for off the back of the Conlan fight.
“To be the best you have to beat the best, so to have a claim to a world title you have to go through these fights. Zelfa is a very good fighter, he wants a world title shot and he’s probably at the front of the queue, so I have to beat him to leapfrog him.”
Barrett (30-2, 16 KOs) has held British, Commonwealth and European titles in his career. In November 2022, the Manchester man put up a spirited display in an IBF world title bout against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov before succumbing to a ninth-round stoppage. He’s been installed as a slight favourite over Gill and will have a raucous home support.
“Being from Manchester and topping the AO Arena, or the MEN Arena as a lot of people will always call it, is a massive achievement,” said Barrett. “I always knew at one point in my life I’d top it.
“Watching [Ricky] Hatton there, [Anthony] Crolla, [Scott] Quigg – that motivates me. That makes me want to eat good and train hard. It makes me work harder in the gym because it’s my moment, it’s my time. People are spending their hard-earned money coming to see me. I’m not going to disappoint them.”

Gill vs. Barrett takes place on April 13. The main card starts at 7 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET). Both fighters should make their way to the ring around 11 p.m. local time (6 p.m. ET), depending on how long the undercard fights last.
