Tiger Woods has created another a buzz at the Master’s Tournament, where he will try to make the cut for a record 24th consecutive year.
The question is whether Woods can stay healthy enough to compete for his sixth venerable green jacket, which would tie the legendary Jack Nicklaus for the most. Last year, Woods made the cut at Augusta but was forced to withdraw after aggravating plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
Woods has not played in a tournament since he withdrew from the Genesis Invitational in February because of an illness. The previous day, he was dealing back spasms that hampered his game.
Woods managed 72 holes late in 2023 at the Hero World Challenge, but he has not accomplished that same feat in a full-field event since the 2022 Masters.
Woods is currently tied with Fred Couples and Gary Player with 23 times making the cut at the Masters. Now, he is feeling healthy enough to make a potential run in Augusta and will tee off Thursday at 1:24 p.m. ET alongside Jason Day and Max Homa.
However, Woods’ round could be impacted by potential storms. Nonetheless, he will be one of the Masters’ biggest draws and a crowd favorite once again.
