The legacy of Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes continues to grow — Iowa has punched its ticket to the Final Four in Cleveland after a massive victory over defending-champion LSU in Monday night’s rematch of the 2023 title game.
Now that Clark and company have exacted revenge on the Lady Tigers, we’ll take a look at the Hawkeyes’ updated odds to come out of the Final Four and win the elusive national title.
Exact betting numbers have yet to be revealed, but BetMGM projected the Iowa-LSU Elite Eight battle to be the most heavily bet game in women’s basketball history.
Nothing involving Clark surprises us anymore, including the nine three-pointers she dropped en route to a 41-point, 12-assist, seven-rebound performance. More records shattered, another giant foe slayed.
Let’s get to Iowa’s updated BetMGM odds to win the national championship, as well as its odds to come out of the Final Four.
Iowa betting odds to win women’s basketball National Championship
After its epic Elite 8 victory against LSU, Iowa remains the second-favorite to cut down the nets in Cleveland. The Hawkeyes’ odds have shortened considerably from +600 Monday morning.

As you can see, unbeaten South Carolina (36-0) remains the odds-on favorite to win the title. Rarely do we see such heavy odds for a team to win it all before the Elite Eight even begins, but Dawn Staley’s squad proved to be the exception to that rule. The -225 translates to a nearly 70 percent implied win probability.
Perhaps even more fascinating, Iowa and LSU were +600 and +750 at second and third on the futures board in national title odds before their Elite Eight game. That told us before that game even tipped that the winner would be heavily favored to make the national title game by prevailing over the victor of the USC-UConn game (we’ll update this article the moment that game concludes).
Many betting analysts and college hoops pundits have referred to Iowa and LSU’s paths to the championship in the Albany 2 region as the “death bracket.” The region didn’t just feature both national championship teams from last year, arguably the two best current teams not named South Carolina — it also featured UCLA, Kansas State, Creighton, and Colorado.
We knew Iowa would see a significant bump in odds to win the national title. However, considering BetMGM has already posted “South Carolina vs. the field” odds (giving the field +170 odds, no less) — we don’t expect anything we see tonight or in the Final Four to displace the Gamecocks as the odds-on favorites.

We expect oddsmakers will list the Hawkeyes as moderate favorites over the winner of that game, as they were -2.5/-130 to beat LSU and we rank the Lady Tigers a little higher than the Huskies and Trojans.
