Leave it to Deion Sanders to liven up a college spring football game.
Coach Prime has brought a different kind of flair to college football in Colorado. The Buffaloes head coach did not shy away from being himself in his first season at the helm of the program, and he is showing no signs of stopping as Colorado gears up for the 2024 season.
The Buffaloes are set to have a handful of games this spring season in preparation for the fall, but it’s not just football that is providing the entertainment. Lil Wayne, one of the most famous rappers in the world, is going to be in Boulder to perform a show following one of the intrasquad scrimmages, the school announced Monday.
Wayne, known for his popular hits such as “A Milli”, “Right Above It”, “Lollipop” and “Go DJ”, will be at the campus for Colorado’s annual Black and Gold Weekend, which features numerous festivities such as the Black and Gold Spring Game, a talent show and alumni reunion.

When is the Colorado spring game?
Colorado’s Black and Gold scrimmage is scheduled to be played Saturday, April 27.
Following the contest, Wayne will take the stage for a performance at the CU Events Center. Concert tickets are already on sale for the event.
This is not the first time that Sanders has brought Wayne to Colorado. The two have shared a connection for quite some time now, and the rapper has made multiple appearances in front of the football program.
Last year, after Sanders was hired as the head coach of the Buffaloes football program, he was seen on campus with Wayne, discussing his plans for renovating the facilities to suit his fashion.

In September, Wayne was back in Boulder ahead of Colorado’s rivalry game against Colorado State. The rapper was included on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff show, walked out with the team while singing “Sky’s The Limit” and even received a custom Buffaloes jersey from Coach Prime himself following the contest.
