Earlier today, SM Entertainment shared the official merchandise for NCT DREAM‘s DREAM()SCAPE album, which was also released today along with the music video for the title track “Smoothie”.
With the music video’s dark and intense aesthetic, many fans expected a similar type of merchandise to go along with it. However, what SM Entertainment has released was surprising to many NCTzens.

The pieces are much more on the cute and simplistic side, and feature an image picket, mouse pad, grip tok, t-shirt set, keyring, and stickers that use the group’s signature “kkyu” pose.
Despite fondness for the “kyu” character, reactions to the merch were underwhelming and, at times, outraged.

Many feel that SM Entertainment is putting little effort into the creation of their merch these days, and that this is just the latest example. Some are even calling for a boycott on the merch to hopefully encourage the label to create better pieces in the future.
