The Warriors will be without their star player for some time.
Stephen Curry injured his ankle during Thursday’s loss to the Bulls and did not return to the game. He finished the contest with 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting.
Curry has battled injuries throughout his career, having not exceeded 69 games in a season since 2016-17. He has averaged 26.9 points, 4.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 2023-24 while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from 3.
The Warriors, who sit ninth in the Western Conference at 33-29, are headed into a pivotal stretch of the season. Missing their star player could be a huge blow to the team’s playoff hopes.

Coach Steve Kerr did not have further updates on Curry’s status after the contest.
Kerr said the star guard had his foot in an ice bath when the team returned to the locker rooms.
How long is Stephen Curry out?
An MRI on Curry’s ankle returned clean and the Warriors will have a clearer timeline on his return based on how his ankle responds in the coming days, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania added that Curry will miss some time, but his absence isn’t expected to be lengthy.
Chris Paul will be the likely point guard for the Warriors while Curry is out. In 38 games this season, Paul has averaged 9.0 points, 7.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds.
Draymond Green said the team is confident in Paul if he should become the starter for a prolonged period.
“We know he is more than capable. He’s Chris Paul,” Green said, per ESPN. “It’s been incredible having C here, but then you have Steph going down — no one is Steph Curry in the NBA. But knowing you are going into the game with a guy who can win you game after game after game, it definitely gives you confidence going in knowing that you are more than capable to win games.”
