An idol group’s rapper has admitted to illegally filming intimate videos of a woman he was in a relationship with.
On March 8, KST, the rapper, identified as 28-year-old Mr. A, was put on trial at the Seoul Western District Court on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act for filming his former girlfriend without consent, and during the trial, he admitted to all charges.
Mr. A is accused of filming his ex-girlfriend while having sexual intercourse with her on more than 20 occasions. He dated this woman for over 10 months, from 2022 to May 2023. He used a silent camera app to film her body parts. Additionally, he is accused of filming another woman whom he met at a bar in Gangnam while she was lying in bed in her underwear. Mr. A has been accused of victimizing a total of three women so far.
One of the victims, who attended the trial, told reporters that she had to file an additional complaint against the rapper with the police on charges of stalking after he suddenly showed up to meet her last January. She added that “A” has made no efforts to amend his wrongs.
Mr. A, who is the main rapper of an idol group, suspended his activities in 2019 due to health reasons. The group he is in is a five-member idol group that debuted in 2017. Mr. A is, unfortunately not the only member to get entangled in such a serious crime. In 2019, another member, Lee, was sentenced to probation on charges of molesting a minor.
Meanwhile, the next trial for Mr. A’s case is scheduled for May 17, KST.
