Netflix‘s hit Korean thriller series Squid Game became an instant global phenomenon in 2021, and fans have been anticipating its second season since.
Now, Netflix has finally shared teasers for Squid Game 2, which will officially be released this year.
In a still cut from the new season, the main character, Seong Gi Hun (also known as Player 456), played by Lee Jung Jae, has returned. His red hairstyle is gone, and he faces the masked guards again.
Lee Byung Hun has also returned. He is reprising his role as Hwang In Ho, who was the Front Man (the overseer of Squid Game).
And, of course, the man we all wanted to see again but couldn’t get enough of last season: Gong Yoo. He will be back as the infamous salesman who recruited participants for Squid Game. In the preview, he has a meeting with Gi Hun.
We also see one of the new faces from Squid Game 2. The character we have yet to meet is pictured holding the card given to potential contestants.
That’s not all. An exclusive clip was also released. Netflix released a brief moment that picks up directly from the end of the first season of Gi Hun leaving the airport to see his daughter after receiving a call.
