On May 31, BTS once again showcased their global influence when they met with President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss racial discrimination, anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion, and the importance of diversity. As expected, the members shined as they spoke passionately about the topics.
Before they met with President Joe Biden, the group attended the Press Briefing and shared their thoughts on Asian hate. As expected, they eloquently how important the topic is and their hopes and desires for the future.
However, before the momentous event, many ARMYs raised concerns that the global spotlight on the group would welcome haters or those ready to criticize the group.
Many news outlets and media couldn’t stop praising the group for their professional and eloquent words on the topic of Asian hate. In particular, the members were praised for showcasing such passion for the extremely important topic to ARMY.
“Equality begins when we open up and begin to embrace all of our differences.”

Unfortunately, one American TV host chose to speak about the event but has come under fire for allegedly disrespecting the group during his show.
Tucker Carlson is the host of Tucker Carlson Tonight and, after BTS’s meeting at the White House, he unsurprisingly spoke about the event. However, rather than praising the group, he seemed to disrespect the members.
Things have gotten very bad for Joe Biden, both public-facing and internally. What are they doing about it? Well, they broke glass in case of emergency and invited a Korean pop group to speak at the White House today.

Although some tried to explain that the host was criticizing Joe Biden, it seemed hard for ARMY not to see it as an attack on BTS.
For many, it only seemed to get worse as the segment continued. After showing a clip from the public Press Briefing that BTS attended, the host had more words to say about the group and it came across as extremely sarcastic.
Yeah, so we got a Korean pop group to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes in the United States. Okay. Good job, guys.
— Tucker Carlson
As expected, many ARMY came to the group’s defense, sharing that the words from Tucket Carlson were very disrespectful when all BTS wanted to do was raise awareness on an important topic.
It seems like many people will always jump at the chance to disregard all the work that BTS has done. Yet, it will never take away from the global impact they’ve had and the amount of good they are using their public platform for.
