It seems like one of the biggest crazes around is the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test. Netizens worldwide have taken the complicated test to determine which of the 16 personality types they fall into.
The members of BTS first did the test back in 2017, and since then, the results have changed.
On April 6 (KST), ARMY were in for the shock of their life when a mysterious picture appeared on BTS’s Twitter account teasing fans about something. Half an hour later, BTS released a new video titled “MBTI Lab 1.” It seems like the members were back to update ARMY on their MBTI results.
When the 2022 results were announced, many of the members stayed the same, while others were surprised that theirs had changed.
Leader RM‘s results stayed the same as the idol cements his status as a true ENFP, which is known as the champion. According to the characteristics, RM is passionate, warm, imaginative, confident, proactive, and flexible. These are all perfect qualities for the leader and showcase RM’s strengths as a musician and artist.
Jin was the next member. Like RM, he had the same result as INTP, which is known as the Thinker. According to the characteristics, Jin might be logical, calm, adaptable, and focused, but he can also be skeptical, critical, and analytical. This seems perfect for Jin, who is not only a calming presence in BTS but also does everything to ensure he is perfect on stage, even if he’s injured.
Suga was the first member whose results changed, but it was only slightly as he went from INFP to ISTP, which is the Crafter. Once again, the characteristics seemed spot-on as the results describe someone who is generous, flexible, and efficient. It also adds that ISTP’s are observant, and it is shown when Suga notices the members’ needs and tries to help them.
The biggest change was definitely for J-Hope. On the surface, J-Hope has always seemed like an extrovert, but his new result is very different as he is an INFJ, which is the Advocate. Yet, the characteristics say J-Hope is understanding, has strong values, and is organized. They are perfect ways to describe the group’s main dancer.
Jimin also stayed the same with his result staying as ENFJ, which is the Giver. As one of the group’s younger members, Jimin suits the characteristics of being active and spontaneous. Like the rest of the members, he is also generous and realistic when it comes to the group and performing on stage.
Many ARMY already knows that V‘s MBTI changed drastically at the end of 2021. After being an ENFP, V realized that he was now an INFP and that didn’t change when the group did the tests again. INFPs are known for being idealists, which means they focus less on the practicalities and are curious, adaptable, and flexible. V is all of those and showcases it in his creativity.
Like V, maknae Jungkook‘s MBTI also changed at the end of 2021, but not as drastically. Like Jin, Jungkook’s MBTI is INTP which is known as the Thinker. Despite being the youngest member, Jungkook showcases the characteristics of being logical, focused, and calm in situations.
As RM explained after revealing the results, they should be taken with a pinch of salt and not dictate how you think of yourself. Yet, it does showcase a person’s personality to some extent and there is no denying that the members have all the positive characteristics of their results.
