While many netizens praised J-Hope’s gesture towards fans, it sparked a heated debate about fan etiquette. In particular, netizens shared anger that fans were waiting at his hotel for a chance to get an interaction or signature when it was his private time, sharing that it was compromising his privacy and not respecting his personal space.
would I love having an album signed by Hobi? yes.
would I compromise his privacy & crowd his hotel for it? no. never.
it’s basic etiquette…why do people keep doing this?!https://t.co/c572NMqwJr

Why am I seeing videos of 🐿️ signing autographs outside of his hotel? WE. DO. NOT. WAIT. OUTSIDE. THEIR. HOTELS. That can’t be ARMY, because we have more respect for their personal space. Smdh.

If you see Hobi in videos just outside his hotel, on his way to wherever, anything that is not a public event, etc., DO NOT HYPE THE ONES POSTING THEM! These videos have been taken by stalkers and paparazzi, and those people are not who we support, not now, not ever! pic.twitter.com/ZwYL5CAfaN

Please don’t share Hobi’s videos, photos, etc. They were all taken in front of his hotel. That’s invasive. And one of the person who clicked his pictures, Amar Taoualit is extremely problematic.
Let’s wait for Hobi. He will update us like he does everytime🙏

If you are showing up at Hobi’s hotel. You’re a stalker/saesang. Real, respectful, & loving ARMYS will act like you do not see them & run the other way. Give them space & privacy. 🤦🏻♀️
Some will never learn. Wait for Hobi to post on his social media.😐 pic.twitter.com/4XogFe0ubJ

Didn’t we as a fandom agree to stop sharing sasaeng/paparazzi pics? So why is my tl flooded with pics of Hobi outside his hotel? Hobi always share pics from the events he attends. Is it really that hard to respect his privacy and just wait for his post?

While idols are always eager to interact with fans, netizens think there should be boundaries and privacy for idols, especially during private schedules.
