An actor from Hong Kong shocked fans with his “old” appearance.
Benjamin Yuen is a former winner of the Mr. Hong Kong 2007 beauty contest and an actor who is best known for his roles in A Fist Within Four Walls (2016), Stealing Seconds (2018) and more.
At currently 43-years old, netizens are doing a double take after seeing a compilation of his visuals in the past years, saying he is “rapidly aging.”
They compared his looks in the second season of TVB drama Line Walker which aired in 2017 to his appearance in the third season in 2019. Some did not hold back, accusing him of not maintaining himself well for his job.
- “[He is] neglecting to maintain his looks.”
- “…it’s a haggard appearance.”
- “He looked so old in many of his scenes.”
- “There’s no reason for him to age so quickly.”
On the other hand, many fans came to his defense as well. They noted that Line Walker was when he was “at the peak of his career” and so it is unfair to compare his looks now to this time.
Benjamin Yuen responded to the backlash in a straightforward manner. He was unapologetic, reminding netizens that it is “very normal” to grow older.
I played Tin Tong seven years ago, it’s very normal to age
