Netizens have accused a K-Pop agency of sexualizing fourth-generation girl group Cignature in their recent comeback.
Recently, Cignature released their new song, “POONGDONG.”
Yet, netizens quickly shared their anger that they believed the girls were being sexualized during the music video. They pointed out that despite the track wanting to celebrate summer, it felt wrong to see the members in extremely revealing outfits, and some of the shots were very inappropriate.
Fans took to social media to share their anger towards the company for turning a summer concept into something sexual with the shots they used.

it’s not just “let women wear what they want” it’s that you can see members trying to cover their chests, a whole shot of their crotch, using shots of their shoulders that don’t show their clothes, using an angle that looks down when they’re wearing the bikinis… use your brain https://t.co/JdMLYgR1MS

In particular, netizens were even angrier because last year, Jeewon was sexualized during a variety show appearance that was promoted by the company.
During the full video, netizens couldn’t hide their anger when, along with speaking about Jeewon’s presence at the WATERBOMB Festival, they even showed images of the idol’s fancams, seemingly those that drew attention to her chest area.
Many fans believe that Cignature could’ve shined with the song and a focus on a more “fun” concept rather than trying to sexualize the members, with netizens thinking they did it for more views.
