On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox have the chance to earn a series victory over the Chicago Cubs at Fenway Park.
Boston will send Tanner Houck to the mound, and they’ll use the exact same lineup that scored 17 runs for the team on Saturday.
Here’s a look at who Alex Cora will used on for the series finale:
- Jarren Duran CF
- Rafael Devers 3B
- Tyler O’Neill LF
- Wilyer Abreu RF
- Connor Wong C
- Mastaka Yoshida DH
- Enmanuel Valez 2B
- Bobby Dalbec 1B
- Ceddanne Rafaela SS
Houck, through five starts this season, has been great, allowing just six earned runs in 32 2/3 innings (1.65 ERA) while allowing just 27 hits and five walks (0.98 WHIP). Only two Cubs have ever recorded hits off of him – Dansby Swanson (1-for-2 with a solo home run) and Patrick Wisdom (1-for-1 with an RBI).
Chicago will put Hayden Wesneski on the hill on Sunday. Wesneski has appeared in two games this season giving up one hit and no runs in 6 1/3 innings, but this will be his first start of the season. No Red Sox have ever recorded a hit off of him.
A win will give Boston their fifth series victory and would improve their home record to 5-8 on the year.
