Here Is All We Know About HYBE’s New Girl Group, LE SSERAFIM, So Far

As most K-Pop fans are probably aware of by now, HYBE Labels, under their subsidiary Source Music, are planning to debut a new girl group very soon. Their name is LE SSERAFIM, which is both an anagram of “I’M FEARLESS” as well as a play on the term LESSERAPHIM, with seraphim being a six-winged heavenly being.

The group consists of six members, most notably two former IZ*ONE members. They’re planning to debut in May, and many teasers for the group have already been released!

The leader of LE SSERAFIM is said to be former IZ*ONE member Chaewon. She was born on August 1, 2000 — making her 21 years old and a Leo — and when she was in IZ*ONE, she was the lead dancer and lead vocalist, so she’ll probably have similar positions in this group as well. She was the fourth member to be revealed, and is also the daughter of theater actress Lee Ran Hee.

She attended the prestigious Hanlim Multi Art School — home of many popular K-Pop idols — and she trained under Woollim Entertainment for 11 months before she participated on Produce 48 (where she placed 10th overall). She stands at 163cm (5’4″) tall, and her specialties are singing and dancing!

Next up is former IZ*ONE member Sakura, who was the first member to be revealed. She was born on March 19, 1998 — making her 24 years old and a Pisces — and she’s the oldest member of the group. In IZ*ONE, she was the group’s sub-vocalist, sub-rapper, and visual, and though her position in LE SSERAFIM hasn’t been revealed yet, it will probably be something similar.

She was a child actress, and is still passionate about the art, so hopefully we’ll see her acting soon! She also enjoys gaming, and even has a gaming channel. After IZ*ONE’s disbandment, she also started her own cosmetic brand, CRAN BY MOLAK, which has been quite successful. She stands at 163cm (5’4″), she’s an INFP, and she has a cat!

Not as much is known yet about the other four members of LE SSERAFIM, but information on them is slowly being revealed! The next member is Yunjin, who is also a former Produce 48 contestant. However, she didn’t place high enough to make it into IZ*ONE (she ranked 26th), so she has remained a trainee until now. She trained at Pledis Entertainment for 6 months, and also attended Hanlim Multi Arts School.

She grew up in the United States — her English name is Jennifer Huh — and she moved to South Korea just to train to become an idol. She was born on October 8, 2001 — making her 20 and a Libra — and she stands at 171cm (5’7″) tall! She has former training as an opera singer, and can also play the ukulele and guitar. She was also the last member to be revealed.

Next up is Kazuha, who was the fifth member to be revealed. She was born on August 9, 2003 — making her 18 and a Leo — and she stands at 174cm (5’8.5″) tall, which makes her their tallest member. While she grew up in Osaka, Japan, she spent time in the Netherlands as well, where she trained to be a professional ballerina. She has won several awards for her work, and a very impressive educational background!

Garam was the second member to be revealed, and so far, it seems like she’s the member with the least known information about her. She was born on November 16, 2005 — making her 16 and a Scorpio — and she stands at 170cm (5’7″) tall. She’s a student at Seoul Performing Arts High School, where she’s in the theater and film department.

Finally, Eunchae is the maknae of LE SSERAFIM, born on November 10, 2006 — making her 15 and a Scorpio — and she stands at 172cm (5’8″) tall. She was the third member to be revealed, and has been a trainee at Source Music since January 2021. She’s a former student of Def Dance Skool (where she trained for 2 years) and currently attends Incheon Popular Arts High School. She’s also known to be friends with Kep1er‘s Bahiyyih and Billlie‘s Haruna!

Whatever this group debuts with, with this kind of talent among its members, LE SSERAFIM is bound to have success in the industry!
